URGENT!  NEEDS TO ENTER PROGRAM WEEK ON SEPTEMBER 14th!, which means the full amount must be raised by then!
Please read her story and share!

On June 24, 2015 3 year old Dutchess was surrendered to the Manhattan ACC shelter by the only family she had ever known.  She had literally bit the hand that fed her and was in turn facing the ultimate betrayal of abandonment at a high kill city shelter.  Dutchess was understandably very nervous at the shelter and needed a rescue group to pull her as soon as possible.

Dutchess was adopted very soon after in July, however about a month after she had settled in she began to have the same issues she was surrendered for- biting.  She has had several issues with biting over the past month when she gets over stimulated.  She is a very smart girl, but also very high strung and needs to learn impulse control- which can only be successfully accomplished with Dream Come True K9.

Please help this little 7lb lady learn the manners she needs in order to live a long and happy life with a forever family.

For the board and train program the 3 week is $3,900. With tax it comes to $4,246.13 (two payments of $2,123.06).
One additional week:  $525 (given the board rate vs the $800 board and train additional week rate)

Expenses paid so far
Boosting post for further reach on Facebook: $9

If you have any questions about why this program is so much money, or why not just wait to find the "right person", well its simple:  Working with Lincoln I have learned that it doesnt matter how far you bring the dog in terms of training, or how much time and money you spend on other board and train programs, you need to use the ONE that works, that will successfully set the dog up for real world success and give them the tools they need in order to function- excel- in the real world.  If you are unfamiliar with Lincoln's story and training please check it out at www.GoFundMe.com/Save-Lincoln

AND please visit DCTK9 online at www.dctk9.com

If you have any questions or would like to contribute by paying via a check, PP, or directly to the training facility please email me at [email redacted]

Here is her original information from June:

Dutchess is in need of an adult home that can give her the structure and boundaries she needs in order to appropriately channel her energy and attention. She is a very smart dog and will thrive in a situation where she has the instruction and reinforcement to know what to do. She is currently located in Maine with her former foster and is in need of a new foster or adopter by September 12th.

Intake date: Friday June 26, 2015

Dutchess is a 3 year old 8lb mini black and tan smooth female Dachshund who was surrendered to a local high kill shelter on June 24, 2015 due to biting her owner when the owner was trying to repremand her for something.

Here are the notes from the shelter:

"Group Behavior:
When off leash with other dogs, Dutchess is polite when greeting and will explore the yard

Profile:
06/24/15

BASIC INFO:
Dutchess A1041280 is an approximately 3 year old, spayed, Dachshund. She is being surrendered to the shelter due to behavior issues. She bit her Owner on the hand today, but did not break skin. Dutchess only health concern is that she has seizures* (she was being fed a very poor quality food known to cause seizures and this issue will very likely resolve as she continues on an appropriate diet). The last one was 2 months ago. She was last seen by a Veterinarian in May 2015.

SOCIALIZATION:
Dutchess is fearful and shy around strangers. It does take time for her to come around to a stranger. She has never lived with children. According to the Owner she does play somewhat rough with strangers. She has never lived with any other animal. She did bite her Owner today as they went to chastise her, but did not break skin.

BEHAVIOR:
Dutchess does need some behavior modification and training due to the incident that led to her surrender. During storms/fireworks or loud noises, she is not bothered. If you touch her food bowl, take a treat away or toy, she growls *(foster has had no issues with her, including with food). She is not bothered if pushed off of furniture, held, disturbed while sleeping or if you give her a bath. She does try to bite if you clip her nails.

FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW:
The best way to describe Dutchess is by saying that she is friendly, affectionate, playful, excitable and very independent. She has a medium activity level. She loves to pull on ropes. When at home, she will follow owner around. She enjoys chew/bones, and playing tug. She is mostly an indoor dog. Dutchess sleeps on her doggy bed or on Owners bed. She was fed Beneful dry food, 1 cup a day *(very poor quality food, and too much. She is now being fed an appropriate amount of a quality food). She was given Pedigree Denta Stix as a treat. She is mostly house trained but does have accidents a few times a week if not walked on time. She does not have a preference of where she pottys when she goes outdoors. Indoors, she will use a weewee pad, if one is available. she listens to the command come. for exercise she would go on brisk walks on the leash."
