Dunja's Psychoanalytic Training
Spende geschützt
My name is Dunja, I have been training to become a psychoanalyst since 2012, The training usually lasts between 5 and 8 years. As I am a single mother (my daughter is 11 years old), my training takes approximately 8 years, so I am more than half through.
Previously I worked as a physician and as a journalist, but it was always my dream to become a psychoanalyst. But it is hard to do if your family is not able to support you. That's why I hesitated many years until I finally found the courage to start my project.
I chose to do my training at the International Psychoanalytic Association (IPA, http://www.ipa.world , in Germany: Deutsche Psychoanalytische Vereinigung, DPV, www.dpv-psa.de ). Here I am trained under high standards which are quite similar at the IPA institutes around the world.
The training costs about 60.000 Euro (http://www.dpv-psa.de/ausbildung/broschuere/ausbildungskosten-in-dpv-instituten/). I pay about 2000 Euro per month, as I have to get supervision and a training psychoanalysis four times a week. Moreover I have to pay for the consulting room (500 Euro per month) and I have to pay back the training loans (650 Euro per month). For my training I have to treat two patients for 300 hours each. I charged one patient very little money as he couldn't afford the analysis otherwise.
Up to now I got through the training quite smoothly, as I got a lot of help. Now there are only two years left and I'm running out of money. Right now I earn between 3000 and 4000 Euro per month, but I am still building up my business. I need to earn 5400 Euro per month in order to keep the system running (http://www.medizin-im-text.de/blog/2015/32769/was-kostet-das-leben-waehrend-der-psychoanalyse-ausbildung-beispiel-dpv/). In order to reach this aim, I have to treat 4 patients per day. I should reach this aim by summer 2017 (measured by the progress I made since 2012, where I started with a monthly income of 2000 Euro as a journalist).
Now I am looking for people who believe that I can do it - with your help. Thank you!
