Foundation for a Drug Free World in New York has conducted more than 1000 free drug education events for the inner city youth since 2006.
We are planning our 9th Annual Drug Free Heroes Awards Gala & Truth About Drugs Concert.
The gala will award grassroots community leaders who are making effective positive change in the community. We are awarding those community leaders who are out in the field, working day-to-day to help others in our city to lead better lives. This is probably the only event that acknowledges these community workers and leaders who are out there with their sleeves rolled up, doing these difficult, but rewarding work.
The concert will be for 500 NYC teenagers. We will be putting on this concert to promote healthy living and being successful while also being drug-free. We have artists already lined up to perform and we will be giving out educational materials at the event.
This event will be one of a kind as it will promote this positive message to the teens during a time period where there are little positive role models for them.
The funds will be for: 1) venue for gala, 2) Audiovisual equipment and staff for both events, 3) Travel expenses for artists for both events, 4) Operational expenses, decorations, catering and signage for both events.
These two events are dedicated to our NYC Community Leaders & Youth, and are free-of-charge to attend for both. Help us to put on these events to acknowledge & uplift our city!
