Quick Back Story- My name is William McDonald and my Mother is Dorothea McDonald. My Mother has been disabled since 2010. She never filed for disability because she didn't want to take from the system when my dad was able to provide. My brother was murdered in 2012 and my mom developed PTSD.  13 months to the day my Dad Passed away in his bed unexpectedly.  In 2015 she had no choice but to get on disability and thankfully she was approved. She is on a fixed income and I have become her caregiver. I clean, cook, distribute her medication throughout the day, drive her to Dr. Appointments, grocery store, her therapy for PTSD and and wherever she needs to go. She has a motorized wheelchair to help her get around. Luckily my Dad has a SUV he used for his work so we are able to transport it when we go anywhere.
The Problem- About a Week ago our car started making creaking noises when using the brakes. Then on Tuesday March 14th our car wouldn't reverse without the gas. We took it to the repair shop the next day and the news wasn't good. The brakes were completely worn down, the ball joint is almost gone, and 2 tires are in major need of replacement. I am far from a car expert so I may not be explaining this perfect, but I can say the cost is about $1400 total. I recently had to replace the battery, a tire, and the muffler in the past 4 months so my savings has been wiped out and she is on a fixed income.  We are asking for any help you may be able to give. The only reason I am doing this is for my disabled mother. I need to be able to take her to the Doctor regularly so she can continue getting her medications. She is very sick and has controlled substances that require her to visit her doctor multiple times a month as well as counseling for her PTSD. Any donation amount would be appreciated greatly. Thank you and God Bless

There has been a little setback. Thursday I had to take my mom to the Emergency Room. Her head was killing her. They gave her a CT Scan and pumped her with medicine through an IV. We had to take a taxi and I'm glad we did because we come to find out hey Medicare through disability won't cover the whole visit. It is overwhelming at times taking care of another person, very especially one you care about. My mom is the last of my true family. Her birthday is the 28th and I'd like to tell her we can get the car fixed. Any donations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you and God Bless.

Here is a quick update. I know I just posted an update but thought I would attach my Mom's Dr. Note showing I am her Caretaker so there is more proof.

I want to start by Thanking Everyone again. I have been a bit distracted with an issue my Grandmother is having and haven't had the time to update this until now. The first major repair to our vehicle is the brakes and it is $750. The $250 that has been donated knocks it down to $500. I have been saving up and have $300 of my own towards it. That leaves $200 left before we can get the brakes repaired. It will take me till early June to be able to save up that extra Money, if nothing else goes wrong. Any other donations would be greatly appreciated. Every $ really does help and it all adds up. Again, I would never do anything like this, but our vehicle really helps when taking care of my disabled mother. I understand not everyone can afford to help but spread this page can be just as useful. Thank you again and God Bless.

I want to say thanks again to those who have Donated. It really means a lot to me and my mom. Things have been tough not having our vehicle to take her to the Doctor, Grocery store and other normal places we visit. I have been able to adapt easily but it is tougher for her. Taking the bus has been tough with her PTSD. She is afraid to go out most of the time as it was and now it has made it scarier for her. We are saving every bit of money we have and with the donations we have received and, hopefully more to come, we will be able to get our vehicle fixed sooner then later. We thank you again and God Bless.
