Helping Helpless Cats!

Looking for help!

I am a fosterparent for homeless, discarded and helpless cats.
On top of that, I have my own six cats.
I could use some financial aid, so I can continue doing what I do: helping cats, who aren't able to help themselves!

I started to help homeless, discarded and helpless cats, for several reasons.
The first reason being that I'm on long-term sick leave (going through screening for MS) and thus without a job.
The second reason is my deep care for animals, especially cats.
Through many years, I have helped cats. I've taken in cats who were otherwise doomed to be put to sleep and found them new homes, a few of them has even ended up staying and are now living with me permanently. I have taken in kittens between one and four weeks old, bottlefed them or had my own two female cats nurse them. I have taken wild kittens in, who's mothers have never known the safety of a proper home, who's never learned that humans can be trusted and are there to care for them. Regardless of how wild the kittens (and adult cats) have been when they arrived here, they have left healthy, happy, cuddly and loving cats, who has been properly socialized and adores humans.
Like Smukke here, a wild cat who's not so wild anymore and soon ready to find his For-Ever-home.

Since July of 2015, I have had about twenty cats in my care. Many have moved on to their new homes when they got old enough, new cats have arrived, some are in the process o being socialized and others are ready and already looking for their new For-Ever-homes. One in particular was in such bad shape both mentally and emotionally when she arrived, that she's not rehomeable and has to stay here. And one of them has stolen my heart to an extend, where I have decided to keep him. So my personal pack of cats have gone from three to six in a year.

I do this work for and with the cats non-profit, meaning I don't make money doing it. For me, this is not a short term project, this is something I intend to do for as long as my health allows me to. So the cats living with me now aren't the first ones and they aren't gonna be the last ones I help. It is my love of animals that drives me and in many ways I am lucky to be on long-term sick leave, so it is possible for me to devote my time and my home to helping the cats placed in my care.

On the other hand it is also difficult. Being without a job means that I am on wellfare and living on a more than strict budget, where unexpected bills can make everything fall apart. Keeping the cats fed and taken care of is my first priority and that is why I need some helping hands. Currently I have sixteen cats living with me. My own three adult cats, two rescue kittens that can't be rehomed and an adult rescue who can't be rehomed either. And having bought them good quality food to ensure that they grow right and remain healthy, well, it has depleted all my savings at this point and I am struggling making ends meet.

Some of the cats in my house are mature or almost mature and needs to be sterilised/neutralised as soon as possible, so they won't contribute to the overpopulation of over half a million homeless cats in Denmark. The five youngest kittens and their mother, ferals that are being socialized, will also need vet checks, spaying/neutering, shots, chips and such before I rehome them.
My financial situation makes me unable to get that sorted on my own and it is heartbreaking to know, because they really need it and so will cats that arrive as fosters in the future.

Vets aren't willing to give mass-discounts unless you're part of a huge organisation and I am not. I want to continue helping cats, so I at least do something useful with my time - but soon it's a matter of me paying rent and eating versus me feeding the cats and getting them to the vet checkups.

Any amount will help, both now and on a continuent basis. So if anyone is able and willing to help me continue to help homeless, discarded and helpless cats, we will all be eternally gratefull - both I and the lovely furry creatures I house now and will house in the future.

I will of course be posting pictures of all the cats and updates on their wellbeing, their health and when they move out into their For-Ever-homes.

Thank you for reading this.
