Derek Quinn, my "other son," was in an accident on October 6 that he should have NEVER survived. He was ejected from his vehicle after a collision on I-95 on his way to work. Thankfully, another motorist stopped his vehicle, blocking Derek from being struck again. Alive, Derek had MULTIPLE injuries and was transported to the hospital, where his recovery began.

Amazingly, Derek made it through that horrible time, only worrying about his wife, children, and parents! His second child, Baylee, was only 19 days old at the time of his accident, and it took some time before Derek was even able to hold her again. His son, Chase, who will be 3 years old in February, did not understand why he couldn't hug his Daddy and play with him like he was used to doing. He has gotten used to Daddy's limitations, helping Daddy where he can.

Derek has continued to recover with the love and help of his family and friends. However, he has had further surgery and is looking at an extensive recovery. He will be out of work for months, and his young family is struggling.

Derek Quinn is a man who LOVES life. His mother says that he does not possess an indoor voice (and man, is she right!), and he NEVER dances like no one is watching.
