A Home for Dunshaughlin Scouts

We are now closing this gofundme account as with the support of the Dunshaughlin community, business and county counsellors we have now accumulated all the required funds to secure  a Den for 7th Meath (Dunshaughlin) Scout Group.  We have recieved a loan for €50,000 with Community Finance Ireland.  This has given us the necessary funds to complete the purchase of the DEN, and ensure that the Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Ventures and Rovers will really benefit by having a place to;

1)      Carry on learning and passing on the principles of scouting.
2)      Host other Scout groups from Ireland and abroad.
3)      Display awards, mementos & pictures.
4)      Dry, store,  & repair equipment.
5)      Call our new den ‘HOME’.

After almost 40 years in existence (registered in February 1977)we now have our own DEN.!
We have been accommodated in nearly every building and shed in our village – from a portacabin behind the council offices, the Pitch & Putt club, Dillons on Navan Road, the Gaelscoil and St Seachnaill’s National Scholl, Old Plug Factory, to mention but a few!!

The Scouts have already played an important role in the life of the village and this DEN will secure the future of the group for many years to come.
