Debbie's World Scout Jamboree 2019
Donation protected
I am very lucky to have been selected to represent the North West as part of the UK International Service Team (IST) volunteering at the 24th World Scout Jamboree in West Virginia, North America in 2019. As part of my Jamboree experience I will part of the safety services team on Foxtrot base camp . I am looking forward to learning new skills, making new friends, understand different cultures/beliefs and helping the young people having the best Jamboree experience ever!
I am currently Assistant Group Scout Leader and Assistant Beaver Scout Leader with 12th Wallasey group where we have over 70 children from a variety of backgrounds attending weekly sessions, camps and days out throughout the year. When I return I want to use my first international Scout experience to inspire the young people in our group how to work as a team, understand different cultures or beliefs and learn skills for life.
As a volunteer service team member, working long hours, we still have to pay fee to attend the Jamboree. The total cost is £2750. As part of my fundraising activities. I will be holding cake sales, car washing and selling unwanted items on ebay or at car boot sales! I will also be taking part in the 15 mile Wirral Coastal Walk in June 2019.
