In 2013, I was diagnosed with stage 3C melanoma and told I had a year to live. Since then, I have fought the disease with all that I have, and received support and strength from so many wonderful people.
Over the past three years, competing in XTERRA off-road triathlons has played a huge role in my battle against cancer. Therefore, I’ve set an ambitious goal for 2016 of racing in 16 XTERRA events around the globe.
I’m also dedicating 2016 to raising funds for the Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF), a nonprofit that provides opportunities to people with physical challenges so that they can pursue active lifestyles.
CAF believes that involvement in sports increases self-esteem, encourages independence, and enhances quality of life. I couldn’t agree more! By raising money for CAF I hope to help others of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds experience the transformative power of fitness and competitive athletics.
My initial goal was to raise $16,000 for this worthy charity...but I believe we can have an even greater impact, so I've doubled my goal to $32,000! With your help I know we can make this happen. Thanks for your support.
