"My Boston Run for Special Kids"
NOTE: The "Amount Raised" displayed on this page (donated by supporters) is the total amount I will match and present to the charity.
The thrill to get picked! Now the challenge - to finish the next Boston Marathon (Monday, April 15, 2019), but more importantly, to gratefully fill a desire to help physically and mentally disabled people with their special needs.
Your fuel for that too would push me towards both goals. Willing to help...please?
For every $1 contributed, I will gratefully match $1 (up to $15,000).
THE CAUSE
The Michael Lisnow Respite Center , Hopkinton, Mass. I’ve known them for 10 years. They are good and help great amazing people.
Since 1998, Respite Center has been a home away from home for mentally and physically disabled children and adults.
“It's a place that offers parents time off too from a whole range of responsibilities they have with their special needs kids.”
The home also provides intensive support services for families including:
- Daycare
- After-school care
- Adult day programs
- Overnight respite care
- Supervised residential placements
- Community employment supports.
Any gift isn't too small. All proceeds will be given to this 501(c)(3) organization who use over 90% money received towards their intended purpose.
The Respite Center is located less than a mile from the Boston Marathon start.
"It's a HUGE deal for the disabled kids, adults, and their families to annually come out and experience the beginning of the run from that location!"
The cheers of the kids will be the first ones I hear at the start, and their faces will be the last I'll see before enduring the 26.2-mile road to the end.
The Respite Center really appreciates all the support that this is doing for them. Your generosity is helping so many families receive the services they truly need.
