Danny's Cancer Care

Donation protected
I never thought I’d ever be in the situation where I couldn’t take care of my loved ones, but here I am.  Our West Highland White Terrier, Danny, was diagnosed with Transitional Canine Carcinoma (TCC) of the bladder today.  My husband is retired and I have been unemployed since August.  We are both in active job search but our search has been slow to fruition.  We cannot afford the surgery Danny needs to save his life, so I’m asking for your help.

We adopted Danny from a rescue organization and he’s been a huge part of our lives for ten years now. He spent the first eighteen months of his life in a cage at a puppy mill before being rescued.  When he came to us, it was obvious that a man had mistreated Danny.  It took a full three months for Danny to trust my husband enough to accept petting from him.  Even now, ten years later, any sudden or loud sound from my husband – something as harmless as a sneeze – triggers Danny’s flight response.  He quickly recovers, but the emotional scars are still there.  It has been our mission in life to love and spoil him so that he never needs to be afraid again.  Whatever love we have given him, he has returned to us a hundred times over.  He has been such a special gift to us and has brought us so much happiness that it tears us apart to think we might let him down now, when he needs us most.

So we are asking for your help. Any donation, no matter how small, is greatly appreciated and will go toward paying for the surgery to remove the tumor, medication and follow-up care.  Thanks for your help.
