1 person every 53 minutes dies in an alcohol related accident in the United States and this is directly related to the more than 1 MILLION DUI arrests that occur each year!
The Think Twice initiative is a drinking and driving PREVENTION program developed by two guys from Seattle (Justin Thompson and Forrest McKai) who decided a proactive strategy is necessary to protect our friends and family in the communities we care so much about. The unnecessary loss of life has been tragic and it is clear the problem will not solve itself.
The Think Twice mission is to reduce the DUI rate by helping people make more informed decisions. It is common to hear people say they, “feel” they are below 0.08% BAC, but for most of us, it is difficult to know for sure. Our program will make a single-use, reliable DUI test widely available to the public and give everyone the opportunity to Think Twice about drinking and driving.
What if every alcohol serving establishment offered these disposable DUI tests to anyone who wanted one? What if service teams were trained to GIVE these pass/fail tests to ALL high-risk patrons?
This Go Fund Me campaign will allow us to create a coalition of bars, restaurants, nightclubs, and casinos. We will be able to train service teams, create awareness campaigns, as well as engage directly with local and state governments.
