DHM Journal Goes Digital

Donation protected
We are the South Pacific Underwater Medicine Society (SPUMS) - a group of medical doctors who care for divers with decompression illness (the bends) as well as using hyperbaric oxygen therapy to help a range of illnesses.

Together with our colleagues in Europe, we publish the widely read scientific journal "Diving and Hyperbaric Medicine" or 'DHM'.  We publish details of breaking research in diving and hyperbaric medicine as well as up-to-date information on diving safety and the prevention of diseases related to diving.

We are very keen to to make this information available as widely as possible, so we are planning to make the journal fully electronic from March 2018. DHM covers a small and poorly resourced area of medical practice, but one of great importance to those requiring treatment in a hyperbaric oxygen chamber.

The change to an on-line electronic journal means all interested divers, doctors and patients can get quick access to the latest information with a couple of clicks. The change will cost money of course, and as a not for profit volunteer organisation (incorporated in Victoria) we could use some help in covering the approximately $15,000.00 costs of switching from paper to electrons.

All money donated through this site will be put toward this publishing effort and as you will see, the money will be deposited into an account of SPUMS.

Please consider making a contribution to this effort!
