Hello, I am Donna Boots and I am running to be the next Mayor of Manton. Manton is a small mountain community of about 750 people, on the western slope of Mt Lassen, in Northern California.
The Manton mayors’ race is a fun way for our community to raise funds for our local nonprofits each year. It is strictly a ceremonial position (bragging rights). You get to be the Mayor of Manton by getting the most votes (money donated). $1 equals one vote. Any one, from anywhere, can vote for the Mayor of Manton. 100% of all donations go to the local nonprofit the candidate is supporting.
This year I am supporting the Manton Grange. The Grange Hall is our community center and is used by just about everyone in our small town, at one time or another. It is in dire need of funds just to stay open. My goal is to raise $2500 for needed repairs such as new carpet, lighting, electrical work and operating expenses.
For a small town like Manton it is very difficult to raise the money locally so I am reaching out to anyone that might be able to help out our little community. Without the Manton Grange there would not be a place to hold such things as Memorial Services, showers, receptions, holiday events. My mission is to see that our Grange Hall stays open for at least one more year.
