Crystal Rudd's fight against Parkinson's Disease

Donation protected
Crystal Rudd has always given all her time and energy to others. She has been such a blessing in so many lives as their teacher, friend, mother, and mentor.  Three years ago she was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. The onset was unexpected. It quickly became so severe she was forced to leave teaching. Over the past few months it has progressed rapidly and she now has trouble with every single aspect of her life. Eating, sleeping, talking, walking and everything in between require immense labor or assistance. The future looked extremely bleak as Doctors gave no hope for dramatic improvement. Then, a former student of hers found an answer to prayer and a chance at hope. That student being me.

I suffered from a concussion over four years ago and, like Crystal, found no hope from any doctors I saw. I quickly became worse and my family and I continued to search for answers. Those answers brought us to a little town in Guelph Ontario where we found a clinic called MMTR Physiotherapy. They specialize in all chronic pain and concussions. During one of my visits I was reading their pamphlet and noticed it stated they treated Parkinson's disease. I immediately wanted to know more and knew I needed to ask Terry Moore, the owner of the clinic. He is the man who created this entire system due to his own fight against chronic pain for over 25 years. He dedicated his entire life to researching and helping others so that they don't need to experience what he did. He is responsible for giving so many people throughout the world relief and hope.

I spoke with him about Parkinson's and his explanation made so much sense to me. I immediately mentioned my fourth grade teacher, Mrs. Rudd! Terry assured me he would be able to help and that day I scheduled her to come to Ontario for two weeks of intensive treatment.

The two of us are currently now taking on Canada together as we both go to treatment every day during these two weeks. Crystal has made tremendous progress in just a few days. She is already regaining  strength and mobility. It has sparked hope and excitement for the future, something she has not felt since being diagnosed over three years ago. Although there finally seems to be a light at the end of the tunnel, it is going to take a lot of time, effort, support, and resources to reach improved health. The sooner Crystal is able to come back to Canada and continue more treatments the easier and faster it will be to make more progress.
