My name is Darci. I am the founder of The Crimson Damsel Project. I recently watched a video on Facebook that talked about homeless women who are living on the streets dealing with being on their period. I mean think about it, no shower, no guaranteed bathroom or place to clean yourself up. I've been on my period while I was camping. I can't imagine living on the streets with no home to return to. Plus some of the women in the video were having to choose between food or tampons. Sad. That's what inspired this project.
We are putting together packages for women who live on the street. Each package contains wet wipes, tampons, pads, liners, a chocolate and other little things that are donated along the way(lotions, soaps, chapsticks.) Just a little something to make their day a little easier and let them know that someone does care about them. This winter I would like for us to be able to pass out warm socks, hats and gloves too.
But alas that all costs money. That's why I'm here. As much as I would love to dish out my savings to help these women, I am only one person and I know there are people out here like me who want to help women too. This is where you come in and save the day ;) I came up with the projected numer of $2400 as the money needed to fund this year. Our monthly goal is $208 to fund everything.
Our project goal is currently 100 pouches a month!
Any donation is greatly appreciated, if you want to send boxes of tampons or other things to help that is wonderful too. Not only will I be thankful for the help but the women who will be affected by this project will be thankful too. PO Box 972, La Center, WA 98629
Update: I've reacently pieced out a budget to figure out what the cost of 100 pouches will be without donations. $208 a month supplies each pouch with 4 tampons, 1 pad, 2 panty liners and a chocolate. I'm hoping for mostly supplies to be donated because I'm not set up as a non-profit yet, even though I'm not profiting from this. I would prefer you to send product also because fees are taken from donations. You can find us on Amazon, our email is [email redacted] the wishlist should pop up!
