Some Hope for Cree

Donation protected
In November of this year, it will be 8 years that the world lost an amazing young man, Erik. It will be 8 years that my sister's life was forever changed. Both to a tragic event that neither deserved. My sister is never one to ask for the help, so someone else needs to do it for her. My family has always hoped that one day we would be able to get her back to the life she deserves to live, & not a struggle everyday from someone else's mistakes.
Tampa News Article

Background Story:
Cree & Erik were pedestrians walking in Tampa, FL in 2009 when a vehicle struck them and sent them airborne. The driver fled the scene & abandoned his car in a ditch, not turning himself in for 2 days. Both Cree & Erik were immediately rushed to Tampa General Hospital in critical condition. Erik unfortunately did not survive his injuries. Cree was hospitalized for weeks after the crash with severe injuries to her leg, arm, hip, eye socket, shoulder, collar bone, chin & jaw. To this day, her jaw barely opens.
Today:
My sister still suffers from physical and mental pain of that night. She is currently still on strong pain patches that help her to get through each day. Everyday seems to be a battle for her, no matter if it's getting through school or work without being tired, or being sore from chasing my beautiful niece around. She has tried to do it all and that is why I feel that she deserves this!

For the last 7 years she has seen multiple doctors & surgeons that have looked at her jaw and have refused to do surgery on it because it was too dangerous because pieces are crushed up close to her brain. This week, she met with a surgeon that felt confident & made her finally feel confident that he could fix her jaw. Currently she can only open her mouth about 8mm; making it hard to eat, yawn, or do anything that most people can. It breaks my heart to see the things she can no longer do. Unfortunately, my sister still has medical bills from her accident and insurance may not be able to cover the cost of this surgery. I would hate for this to not work out for her. To get so excited to finally find someone to do the surgery & that hope be taken away so quickly because of money. Any little bit would help. Even if it's just a prayer. I know God works in mysterious ways & prayers go a long way.. Thank you all.
