Rebuilding Baseball fields at Costello Elementary

Costello elementary and the Troy baseball community need your help. The local school district is unable to fund the repair or maintenance of elementary athletic fields. As a result the field has not been properly maintained for years. Once we can complete the necessary repairs, a local nonprofit has agreed to maintain the fields going forward. The City of Troy baseball players deserve to practice and compete on fields that are repaired and maintained in safe playing conditions. Our coaches, players and parents have been hard at work this season trying to get these playing fields back in shape for the upcoming baseball season. The athletic fields at Costello Elementary are in need of some TLC. We have obtained funds to repair the 3 existing player benches, build the 4th missing player bench and place garbage cans at both fields. 

We need your additional donations to complete the following improvements:

* 2 Home Plates and 2 Pitcher Mounds

* 2 Sets of Bases, 2 Sets of Base Posts to be installed in the fields and 2 Base lock boxes to hang on backstops to secure the bases for ongoing use.

* We have received rough estimates to get Limestone Slag delivered to the school for both fields, the estimated cost is $2,800.00. Limestone slag is the final layer added to the top of the diamond which helps level and maintain the field surface)

* 1 Drag Chain to prep field before games

* 4 BAT RACKS- to hang on fence in each of the 4 dugouts

 Statistics have shown that students who are involved in sports do better in school, have higher self-esteem, learn leadership skills, and have a sense of belonging. Our players and students are the epitome of what a TEAM should be.

No donation is too small, and all are greatly appreciated.

Any donated money that is not used will be donated to the Costello Elementary PTO.
