Conservation Drone to Save Animals

Donation protected
Hello my friends, animal activists, and enviros,

I am asking for your help in funding a drone that I will use to help protect the critically endangered vaquita porpoise, in the Sea of Cortez, and on other conservation efforts.

My name is Matt and I care deeply about the environment and animals. I am a vegan, an animal liberation activist, the environmental activist, and someone that wants to do my part in stopping the extinction crisis humans are causing right now our blue planet.

I left my corporate gig a few years ago to be able to focus my energy to helping with some of the environments’ problems. In that time I have volunteered on two different Sea Shepherd campaigns and volunteered on many other projects to help with some of the problems around the world.

In 2014 I was trained on how to fly drones and did that in the Faroe Islands to help stop the slaughter of the North Atlantic Pilot Whale. In 2013 the whalers in the Faroe Islands killed 1104 pilot whales but when we showed up to stop them in 2014 they only killed 48. Direct action works! We can stop the people destroying wildlife simply by standing between their killing weapons and their victims.

I believe that technology, if used in the right ways, can help us solve some of the problems that humans are causing animals and the environment. I’d like to take my skill with drones to the next level and could use your help.

Currently in the Sea of Cortez the vaquita porpoise is under attack by ruthless fishermen and crime syndicates in the area. They are killing the totoaba bass since it brings big money in China. The vaquita, and many other animals (including sharks, rays, turtles, and whales), are dying as a side effect of hunting the totoaba. This fish swim bladder can fetch $20,000 in China, where it is used in soup. Sadly the totoaba is also critically endangered.

I will use this drone on this and other campaigns to monitor the illegal fishing in the vaquita reserve area and on other conservation projects.

If you care about this issue, care about this species survival, and have some extra money to throw into this effort I promise you it will be put to good use.

For the price of lunch you can help in trying to save this marine mammal and many other animals that are getting caught in the nets and long lines the fishermen are putting out. Any amount that you can donate will help greatly!

Extinction is forever, let’s solve it before it’s too late to do anything.

I am trying to raise this money in 1-2 weeks so that I can get the drone, become familiar with it, and get down to where it is needed still this spring. So, if you plan to donate the sooner the better.

With conviction!
Matt
