Bringing Awareness to Compassion

Hello everyone,
I am David. I bring awareness to compassion. For over a decade I've been asking people to share their concept of compassion, initially in a notebook and then switched to video recording because of Covid. I do so as a lifelong endeavor to bring awareness to compassion. In 2011, I self-published a compilation book of over 3,000 written responses. I've done interviews, been the subject of documentaries, and am present as a "street therapist" for those who seek guidance. Now I post compilation videos online of people sharing their thoughts on compassion.
In early 2013, I spearheaded a project to be the first monument built in honor of compassion—the Compassion Corner Earthbench in Davis, CA. It was a community-built art project in collaboration with Earthbench builder Brennan Bird and local mosaic artist Mark Rivera. The bench is made out of trash and earth. It brought together close to 200 people to help create a space for people to sit and reflect on the ideas of compassion and sustainability.
In 2015, I finished a Compassion Tour, a yearlong exploration of compassion spending time in different communities in the US. It started on September 3rd, 2014 in Keene, New York for a month followed by Burlington, Vermont; Lodi, New Jersey; Louisville, Kentucky; Tampa, Florida; Austin and San Antonio, Texas; Boise, Idaho; Portland, Oregon; and finishing in Seattle, Washington. During my stay in each city I asked its citizens to share their written concept of compassion in a notebook while documenting the experience via blogs, photos, video blogs, and storytelling.
I am seeking financing to continue bringing awareness to compassion and for possible subsequent traveling to film compassion responses elsewhere.
