Restore Freeman & Gerald Barton Memorial Ballfield

We hope to restore our local memorial ball field and recreate a functioning family park and garden. We have been working in conjunction with JACBA to clean up and restore their community ballfield and garden areas.  We will need help with materials and fuel costs for the equipment. Community members are willing to do the hands on labour and donate use of  our equipmemt and tools if we can fundraise enough to buy 2x4's, plywood and shingles for the dug outs.  We also need to seed the field, manage the road into the park, and buy materials to fix the 

Our ANS students/youth  have been advocating on their own behalf to get this space up and running again. They wanted to see it rejuvenated and returned to it's original state. The highschool softball teams  have no where to play this season as the in town field is under renovation while the sod is being replaced.

This field would also be great to offset the over booking that happens during tournament times. There is always a need for another field as teams can not register because there is never enough time for everyone to play... Especially if it is during times when the students are playing their regular season.   

It is also a beautiful space for family gatherings/BBQs and fundraisers.
