Matt Schuetz  SAN ANTONIO, TX
Our 5 year old beautiful son, Colter Schuetz, needs your help. Colter was diagnosed with autism shortly after the age of 2. Up to that point he was developing ahead of schedule and exceeding his milestones. He was talking, singing, counting, saying his ABC's, and more. All of a sudden he lost all of these abilities around his 2nd birthday and we received his diagnosis of autism just a few months later.

We have tried different therapies, diets, and biomedical treatments for Colter and while we've seen some progress, it has been minimal. He will be 5 years old in October and although we are proud of the progresses he has made, we know that he is capable of more.

We have done research on just about every type of treatment available, specifically stem cell therapy for autism. There have been many amazing success stories with children like Colter who have received stem cells and have seen huge gains within months of treatment.

Children that were nonverbal are able to speak and express themselves. They begin to read and play with other children and more. It is like they are brought back into this world and out of the autistic one that they were confined in.

Some people may be concerned with some of the negative/unethical methods regarding stem cells and how they are obtained, but the type of treatment we are looking into for Colter is not controversial. The treatment we are seeking uses Colter's own cells from his own bone marrow and then are re-introduced into his body to help accelerate the healing process. No foreign cells will be used.

This procedure is unfortunately not available in the United States. We would have to travel to Panama to have the procedure done. It is very costly. The cost of the treatment and travel (flier miles would be greatly appreciated as well) is about $22,000 and we cannot come up with the money by ourselves. So we are asking for your help. It's not often comfortable to ask for financial help, but we believe in the good of our communities and families and most importantly, we will stop at nothing to help Colter.

With the research we have gathered regarding stem cell therapy and autism we know there is a great chance this could do wonders for Colter and help heal his brain from the inflammation causing his autistic symptoms. The clinic where we plan to go, with your help, has a higher than 70% success rate with children like Colter. As a parent, how could we not try this?

All we want is for Colter to have the opportunity to live a productive and fulfilled life of independence and happiness and we are asking for your help to provide him with every opportunity to succeed.

Anything you can donate to Colter's cause will be greatly appreciated...Words can never express our gratitude. We'll of course update you on his status and you can take pride in knowing that your donation (no matter how large or small) helped change Colter's future. And whether you are able to make a donation or not, please pray for our journey and share Colter's story. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

So... Great news! We've been helping Colter detox and his latest test showed zero mercury! His stem cell treatment has been approved and they are ready to schedule a date. All we have to do is come up with the rest of the funds to get it done. So please please please donate and share. We need a big push more now than ever. If you think $10 isn't a lot, trust me it is. His story has been seen by at least 4K people. If half of those each donated $10 we would be at our goal. I'm so thankful to everyone that has donated and/or shared Colter's story. Thank you in advance for your support and prayers!

Gofundme is giving away $1,000 to campaigns that receive a minimum of 10 donations today with the possibility of a $10,000 from gofundme. If you haven't donated please consider. It doesn't have to be huge. It would be great to have a chance at either one of these contributions from them. Thank you so much and if you donate or not, please share this post. Thanks again everyone!

Hey everyone... We've held off on sharing this fundraiser for a little bit. The procedure has been delayed by a few months because we found out that Colter has elevated mercury in his system and the clinic is requiring that we use chelation to remove the metals before they'll schedule him. We have begun the treatment and we hope we are able to verify the levels have decreased soon so we can get him scheduled for the stem cell treatment. In the meantime, I just wanted to say thank you to everyone that has donated and shared Colter's story. Even if you've shared it 10
times please share it again. We are almost half way to our goal which is amazing, but we need this to spread like wild fire to try and make it to our overall goal. Thank you again for your help. It truly does mean the world to us and to Colter.

Please research Neurofeedback! My daughter has Autism, and after 10 years of hell she had Neurofeedback 3 years ago and she now is in college living in a dorm! They could see that there were parts of her brain that weren't communicating with each other, so they changed the pathways in her brain to better communicate. Our lives are unrecognizable today from what they were 4 years ago!!!!

Don't know if it is legal in your state but medical marijuana treatment has been very successful for autism. It would also be a lot cheaper to try first even if you have to temporarily reside in another state.
