Hello, my name is Collin Shelton and I would like to tell you a little about myself. I am currently in 10th grade, am an honor student and am truly passionate about wrestling. I was recognized last year as Rookie of the year in my first year wrestling for the varsity team along with earning the Scholar Athlete award for my hard work in school as well. I suffered a broken leg in 8th grade at a wrestling tournament and have since come back more determined and hardworking than ever. Wrestling has given me the opportunity to learn more about myself and what I can accomplish in life.
My Goals
1. To be a better person for myself and the people
around me.
2. To learn the meaning of pure determination and
self-motivation.
3. Learn how to help my community and the
importance of doing so.
4. To become the best wrestler and person I can
become and place at States.
I have started this GoFundMe campaign to ask for support in my journey to be the best wrestler and man I will become. The J. Robinson 28-Day Intensive Wrestling Camp will give me the opportunity to learn more about myself and what I need to do to accomplish my wrestling and life goals. The camp is 28 days from July 1 - July 28 2017.
The J Robinson Wrestling Camp as stated on their website:
“focuses on developing technical skill, physical
preparation, building mental toughness, and life skills.
Our goal is to prepare wrestlers to win by challenging
them to overcome physical fatigue and mental stress
every day. The lessons we teach have an immediate
and long-term impact on the athletes that translates
to success on the mat, in the classroom, and in life.
The work ethic and discipline instilled at our camps
becomes a part of their core, creating tough,
determined athletes who channel their skills towards
achievement in all aspects of life.”
My long term Wrestling Goals:
o 10th grade Place at Sectionals
o 11th grade Make it to States
o 12th grade Place at states and become the State
Champion
o Continue on to a successful Collegiate Wrestling
Career
My Life Goals
o Graduating from high school with honors
o Continue my education in Athetic Training /
Medicine
o Continue wrestling into my College career
o Learn to be disciplined and proudly serve the
communities that I will be a part of in my future.
