We are the three Bees.
Our names are Ken, Christian, and Wyatt Baldwin.. We live in Northern California, and we spend a great part of our lives fighting the disease that has taken hold of our youngest family member. It is called Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). DMD affects nearly 1 in 3,500 children annually, usually boys. It is commonly diagnosed between the ages of 3-5. Christian was diagnosed at age 5. DMD is a progressive muscle wasting disease which not only affects the skeletal muscles, but also attacks the body's organs such as the heart and lungs. There is no cure for DMD and average life expectancy is mid teens to possibly the early 20s.
Christian is a bright, loving, kind Son, Brother, Nephew and recently Uncle who loves video games, movies, and most of all Dolphins. Christian recently lost his ability to walk and is confined to a wheelchair. It is our wish to be able to purchase a wheelchair accessible vehicle to get him to his weekly appointments in Sacramento, Ca for his infusions.
Christian was given the title Ambassador for DMD in Northern California.
