Chris' Fight Against Cancer

Donation protected
Last Monday, our 29 year old son, Chris, called and told us his legs were very swollen, and he was very concerned.  We knew something was wrong immediately and took him to the emergency room where a CT scan showed he had several severe blood clots in his legs, abdomen and one in a lung. He was admitted immediately and placed on blood thinner. The CT indicated other issues which needed to be looked into further overnight. After an agonizing night of worry, we were given the unbelievably heartbreaking news that Chris has stage 2 testicular cancer.

We can not begin to explain how surreal it is watch your child lie in a hospital bed and to be told he has cancer. To look at this outwardly healthy young man, and know that a disease is slowly trying to kill him or to watch his young wife sitting by his side, comforting him as he tries to understand, was so incredibly hard. We were all helpless.

Today, we are on the offensive. He is being treated for the clots. He is receiving chemo to deal with the cancer. He will have 9 weeks of chemo total, and will also need a course of radiation treatment . He has to wait until the doctors clear him for surgery, since he is on blood thinners for the clots.

We appreciate you prayers and well wishes immensely, but now they need your help in another way.

Chris and his wife, Alicia, need your immediate help with the financial burden this disease causes. Although Chris has limited insurance, they will need help with high deductibles, out of pocket expenses for their portion of the bills and treatment costs and medications. Chris will also have no income while he is out of work, and will need help with day-to-day expenses like food and bills.

This is a young couple that is just starting out on their life together, and deserve to know the joys of life. With your help, they can overcome this disease and the financial burden it causes, and they can, once again, focus on their future.

Thank you for your generosity,

Donna and Chuck Schronick (Mom & Dad)
