The Children's March on Washington will be held on August 12, 2017 at 10am at the National Mall and we need your help to make this happen. America is failing our children and we have a duty to protect their right to participate, their freedom of speech, and their humanity.
In order for children to live up to their greatest potential we need to provide them with a safe place, basic human needs, and equal opportunity. Children under the age of 18 are not able to vote therefore, they are the least likely to influence policy that affect their day-to-day lives.
Children's Rights are ignored around the world. It is a travesty that the United States is the only nation in the United Nations that has not ratified the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. We need to stand with the rest of the world to ensure that the rights of the child is reflected in our US Laws.
There are an array of children rights issues that many people are unaware of. Issues such as child marriage, child labor, human trafficking, healthcare, education, juvenile justice and the environment are many reasons why we are creating a platform for children to speak out about injustices that affect them daily. It is time to join our children as they raise their voices together and to speak up about issues they care about.
