Why we do what we do... Every child's dream is valid!
Hey, Good People!!!
In Just 17 days, through generosity of people just like you, we received donations of over 200 new hardcover books for a school library our team of 50+ young professionals will be building at the Cheery Centre http://www.cheerycentre.org in Nairobi Kenya in March 2015. We have such a momentum and spirit of giving going... We can't stop now!!! Together, we can place textbooks in the children's classroom.
A Kenyan literacy curriculum textbook costs $12.50. We would like to fund 200 textbooks for the school aged students of the Cheery Centre. With your help, we can raise the funds by March 2015!
The Cheery Children Education Centre (CCEC) is located in the heart of Kibera slum in Nairobi, Kenya at Mashimoni. The founder of CCEC could not ignore the plight of orphaned and destitute children in the slum who had lost their parents to AIDs, different diseases and other effects of poverty thus the CCEC was founded and thus weare a small educational institution offering humanitarian assistance and catering for the needs of the poverty stricken children in Nairobi's Kibera slum, the largest slum here in Africa by population and size. The CCEC offers an environment where the children learn to know the value of a family in which they are cared for, loved and educated until such a time they will be able to take care of themselves and their own future families in the society.
Now that we have storybooks for the CCEC library...
