After our beloved production of RICHARD the SECOND and packed-house reading of THE CHERRY ORCHARD, LA classical theatre ensemble Chase What Flies presents William Shakespeare's LOVE'S LABOUR'S LOST , a hilarious exploration of the barriers we put between ourselves, our feelings, and reality, performed at Hollywood's Lounge Theatre, November 30th through December 16. Consisting of actors and artists from some of LA's finest theatres, we have come together to share progressive, poignant stories through the universality found in classic Plays and Words. To do so, we need your help.
Chase What Flies is a bit of a rarity in Los Angeles theatre: an ensemble almost entirely made up of professional stage actors, performing in an intimate setting with tickets readily affordable to audience members. No concepts, gimmicks, or bells and whistles; instead, the performance of resonant works of theatre with a focus on theme, language, and humanity.
We're also unique in that we pay all of our actors and designers for their time and artistry. If we raise our goal of $3400, our expenses for this production will be covered, which means we can give every dime of our ticket sales back to our actors and designers. The producers of Chase What Flies make no profit - everything we make beyond our expenses is divided evenly among the rest of the team.
If you've seen Cymbeline, RICHARD the SECOND, or our Cherry Orchard reading, you know the high-quality work our team does. If you believe artists deserve to be compensated for their dedication and craft, please consider donating what you can to us. Even if we are unable to reach our goal, EVERY CENT will do a little bit more to ensure our artists are cared for, and that Chase What Flies can continue to tell classic and poignant tales for the years to come.
