Casa de SOL: Mountain SOL Building
Tree-climbing, deer-tracking, woods-running, dirt-digging, plant-growing, fun-loving, mountain-mapping, owl-calling, adventure-loving Mountain SOL Scouts!!
Mountain SOL School will be moving into our very own building starting with the 2017-2018 school year! Get excited, we're moving on up the hill! And we need your help NOW to be ready to move in by July 4!
On May 9, the building in the picture was delivered to our campus at Morgantown Learning Academy. In a very short period of time, we were able to raise enough money and support to purchase this building. Now we need your help to raise the money needed to turn our shed into an truly epic, amazing Mountain SOL classroom!
Located in Morgantown, West Virginia, Mountain SOL is an outdoor education program focused on sur-thrival (thriving in the woods!), stewardship and outdoor leadership. Our classes are more than just lesson plans taught outside — they’re fun, fully immersed experiences. Our emphasis on passion, personal responsibility and leadership skills equips Mountain SOL students with the tools to make real changes in their communities and the world at large.
The $4,405 we hope to raise through this campaign will go towards all the things needed for interior, including:
-Electric hook-up and wiring throughout
-Insulation and drywall
-Additional door
-Heating and ceiling fans
-Lighting
-Desks and seats!
and much more!
With the help of our parent advisory committee and our production manager, Paul Kritschgau, we have a detailed budget online of the items that we need in order to move in. We need to move from our current space into our new building the week of July 4th.
We are grateful for the help we have received already to purchase our mobile building (Casa de SOL!).

With this amazing help and the generously-donated labor of Nick Buysse, we have been able to purchase the building and get it here on our campus.

- Terra Cafe fundraising dinner, organized by Mtn SOL students Bella Zucker & Arianna Kahly, along with their moms Stephanie Zucker & Jennie Kahly
With this building, for the first time, Mountain SOL will have our very own classroom space. While we're outside for most of our programs, we still need an indoor space as a base for operations and a shelter for kids during severe weather. The mobile classroom will provide office space for staff, a classroom area and lots of storage. It also will allow Mountain SOL to continue to expand and grow our programs.
