Carroll Lost her Home in a Flood

Donation protected

Carroll Bass is a 64 year old disabled woman with a heart condition. She built her little cabin on the shores of Lake Eufaula in Oklahoma. Her home is typically a couple hundred feet from the lake. However, it is now in the lake ....

The recent heavy rain storms, have raised the lake level by over 15 feet and has forced Carroll out of her home.  The heavy rain is adding more water than they can pump out. Channel 6 news has reported on her condtion twice. Click below to watch the news broadcasts.

May 15, 2015: High Waters Turn Lake Eufaula Cabin Into Houseboat

May 22, 2015: I Don't Think I Built It For a Flood

As of May 24, 2015 Carroll's cabin is completely in the lake. There is about five to six inches of water inside of the home.   This picture is from her living room sliding glass door, that used to have a beautiful view of the lake.

Carroll began building her cabin in 2008 and as it was only about 95% completed she was unable to get insurance on it yet. We are sure that by the time the water levels go down, that the wood foundation will need to be rebuilt.

Carroll has lived in this neighborhood since 1995 and has never seen the lake flood to this extent.

It is Carroll's hope and dream to be able to rebuild her Cabin on the Lake along with some safeguards against future flooding.

All donations will be utilized for Carroll to rebuild her home, and/or secure housing until she can return to her home.

Donations are requested to enable Carroll to rebuild her Cabin on the Lake.
