2018 Annual Fund: Canal Shores

We're closing in on our $50,000 goal when checks and other donations are added to the GoFundMe total that's shown. Even so, our appeal remains as urgent as ever: Please support Canal Shores by donating before year-end to our 2018 Annual Fund. Together, we can take Canal Shores to a higher level on all fronts: golf, ecology and community. However you experience Canal Shores, we hope you share our sense of progress.
· Golfers appreciate wider and well-groomed fairways, new and improved bunkers, puttable approaches to greens, and new practice cages. The robust youth golf program maintains its focus on teaching not only golf techniques but also life skills through the game of golf.
· Our ecological work won recognition from Friends of the Chicago River, and projects are planned to beautify pocket areas where the course abuts residential neighborhoods. Removal of invasive plants is ongoing, involving dozens of volunteer individuals, neighbors, scout and school groups.
· Appreciation of Canal Shores' role as a community asset continues to grow. Outdoor concerts that SPACE staged on the course delighted newcomers as well as familiar faces. Bird walks attracted persons of many ages. Corporate recognition came in the form of grants. And, we are humbled by the outpouring of support to save the 10th hole and its habitat from a proposed roadway.
Canal Shores is a community golf course but not a municipal course—that is, it receives no funding from the City of Evanston, the Village of Wilmette, or MWRD—and depends on your generous support.
