Cammie's Medical Fund

This is the beginning of Cammie's story.  She was diagnosed with a very rare type of breast cancer in February 2015.  As test results were gathered, they realized it was so rare because the cancer was not primarily in her breast, but in her kidney - so now it is kidney cancer. In late March, they found a softball size tumor on her right kidney as well as several spots in other places.  The type of cancer is Clear Cell  Carcinoma and it is a tricky one.  It does not respond to chemo or radiation treatments, but there are some medicinal treatments available to slow the growth of the cancer cells.

Cammie will have surgery to remove her right kidney on April 24.   Amazingly, they will be able to remove it laparoscopically so her recovery time will be shorter.  She hopes to be back at work after a couple of weeks.
