You:  You are part of this historic effort.  The first Sangha founded temple in Iowa, and your donation will be remembered in our honorary wall.  You need not be Buddhist to donate in this noble cause.

Services to the public:
Anyone who wishes to ask for Buddhist services may do so and need not be a Buddhist.  All services are open to the public. Some types of services in temples are: chanting the sutras, Buddha Name recitation, funeral services and support, chanting for others, blessings, volunteering for public projects, spiritual guideance, counseling, meditation training/advice, cultural activities like chanting counter bead making, sutra copying, translating, Chan arts, Dharma music and instrumentation instruction.

Blessings Wall.  Red name tablests in temples are temporary and others are permenent.  It depends on your wishes and means.  There a rewards lotuses that explain this well.   Blessings come in the form of averting calamity, quelling disasters and prolonging longevity (improving health and supportive practices) 


Memorial Garden.  A memorial garden is planned for remembering passed on children, and one more for the solitary, the unknown and beloved departed.  

Translation mission.  The temple is dedicated to translating the Buddha dharma into English for all people to study and improve their own minds.

The abbess does translations for no profit, no wage, and only to propagate Buddha dharma in the West teachings and trainings from Chinese Buddhist Sangha and Buddha's dharma.  Find her books in this link to amazon:

Abbess' background
In 2001, She left home at 9/11 after watching the dying jumping to death in horror and in reply to requests to help, She moved to the temple and volunteered in the 5 boroughs of NYC and in the 5 state area. She became a translator in all the hospitals and for the public service agencies trying to reach out to immigrants in the New York City population.   She spent 6 years in service to her temple and the people of New York. Moving to Iowa she founded Bhikshuni a 501 3 (c) religious nonprofit, and named her temple Calm Clarity.  Living in the Iowa as the first and only Bhikshuni in residence.

Education in Iowa.   She earned an MA (90) Iowa State University, Ames, IA and  earned a BA (87) Religious Studies {Buddhism: Chinese, Art; Daoism, Art}, and a BA (87) Art & Design~Drawing, Painting, & Printmaking {Buddhist art, symbols, architecture, art history; thangkas, Chinese & Japanese paintings, meditation & prayer of the masters.  She has 30 years study of the Chinese language living in the culture and travelling. 
30+ year meditator & teacher.  Her meditation  and training, all with traditional masters in sound methods in training and supervision.  She was certified in her 10th year of practicing meditation as a meditation teacher by her Shaolin master and later by Mahayana Chinese Bhikshu and Bhikshuni.


Historical Timeline in Iowa.  

1. 2006 Moving to Iowa. 
2.  2006 Establishing the first Mahayana Chinese Temple in Iowa, Due to limitations on budget and size the temple is only open by appointment.
      2015 Named the temple Calm Clarity.
3.  Mission to complete the first English Mahayana Tripitaka from the Taisho Edition.  

This nonprofit is certified by guidestar.org.  Bhikshuni is the name of the nonprofit with Calm Clarity Temple being under this organization.  Bhikshuni has been awarded the gold seal by Guidestar for transparency.
