Hi my name is Vimaris and I am a Conservation Biology Masters student. I am raising money to go to the Convencion Tropico 2016 (it will be know as, CT 2016, for the purpose of this description) which is in Cuba this year, it will talk about different science investigation going on in Tropic regions of Latinoamerica.
Let me detail how the money will be used and how all the contributtions will be spent.
The money is to cover travel expenses, accomodation (for 3 nights; I will pay two nights), and the cost of the convention, to sum it all up:
approx $900 for travel
$250 for the CT 2016 fee
approx $300 for stay
= roughly about $1500 US
**All espenses will be use for CT 2016** No amount of money will be used for other expenses than the ones mentioned. Food and insurance will be funded by me.
The Convention is in MAY 30 TO JUNE 4 2016.
I know, sudden. I received the invitation a few days ago.
So why do I need this money?
Well this is my story... (the short version)
I am originally from Puerto Rico and had a scholarship to study in Argentina, so I am right now currently living in Argentina (job-less) and using all my savings and little contribution, but thankful and helpful, from my family and my grandma (who I love and adore, gracias abuela!) to pay for all the accomodation expenses.
It really means a lot to be participating in Conferences, and specially this one because the experiences, opportunities and knowledge you could gain are inmensely awesome. Also all the topics will mainly discuss tropic scientific discoveries and new studies.
So by attending, I would likely, if I round up the money, be participating in a contest to present my tesis proposal. (ps. I want to research on Tropical Urban Biodiversity)
With that said...I will be SUPER grateful to everybody who cooperates with me that I will even put each and everyone of you in my "Acknowledges" section of my tesis paper. NO LIE! :)
So please, pleaaase help me fund this journey/opportunity/dream/tesis presentation proposal
