COG Passenger Vans Fundraiser

The students of Children of God Educational Services, LLC (COG) are ambitious, hard-working, and in need of your help. They are raising funds to purchase two 12-passenger vans. Why would a bunch of school-aged children be concerned with such a thing? Well, at COG, we are a family. We eat together. We play together. We work together. And we pray together. There is rarely an open slot at our Historic Bristol Borough facility. We keep our class sizes low and students are screened for compatibility with the existing students & staff before acceptance into any of our programs.
With before- and after-care, drop-in services and summer camp programs available, 100% of our parents are able to work. When asked, 100% of our parents would change nothing about our programs and 97% of our students would recommend our program to their peers. Since all of our students participate in our STEM programs, 100% of our students meet or exceed their academic goals. In addition, 90% of our students are 'Student of the Month' at their respective schools. When our students age-out at 12, they opt to remain as volunteer Youth Counselors. COG has 0 % staff turn over rate. In short, we love what we do and who we are with each day, and our students feel the same way.
With a curriculum that fosters each student’s desire to learn through discovery play, COG uses innovative educational centers and specifically-selected field trips throughout the year to engage students academically, socially, and physically. Transporting approximately three dozen persons on 70+ trips each year is expensive (and stressful for all) when public transit, taxis, bus rentals, and good ole' fashioned walking are the available options. All of us at COG (students, staff, and management) would love to minimize the time, energy, and expense spent on those travel modes (more time and more money means more trips)!
The old adage, "Pray like it depends on God and work like it depends on you" is certainly true at COG. Last year our students participated in a street festival (First Fridays on the Delaware) held in our historic town. They set up a table and sold lemonade to thirsty customers for $1 a cup. By the end of the summer, they raised $500!! They took that money and filled 10 backpacks with toiletries and other basic necessitities and donated them to a local church for homeless families. But not before each one included a hand-written note card. This year, our students are determined to sell even more lemonade at First Fridays and put all the profits toward the purchase of the vans.
Currently, a passenger van goes for about $37,000 new and $25,000 used. However, Bristol Motor Company has graciously offered to acquire for us two used passenger vans for only $15,000 each. With 11 trips planned for this summer, COG's goal is to raise $30,000 by July 1. Won't you help us reach it?
