The California Hispanic Chambers of Commerce (CHCC) has announced the establishment of the “Hispanic and Small Business Relief Fund” to raise funds to assist Hispanic businesses and Chambers affected by Hurricane Harvey.
For many small business owners, the effects of Hurricane Harvey could be devastating. Nearly 40 percent of small businesses don't reopen after a natural disaster because of the cost to repair damages, stated Julian Canete CHCC President & CEO
The CHCC has had a long-standing relationship with TAMACC and many of the Hispanic chambers affected by Hurricane Harvey. California’s Hispanic businesses know all-to-well the impacts that natural disasters have on our business community.
“One of the key focuses of CHCC is strengthening businesses. We realize that strong businesses are the cornerstone of strong communities, so it is imperative that we do all we can to help our fellow Hispanic business and chamber recover so that our communities can come back stronger than ever," said CHCC Board Chairman Frank Montes.
The CHCC will be partnering with TAMACC to coordinate distribution and programming of funds raised for assisting hurricane-damaged Hispanic businesses and chambers. Currently TAMACC has been coordinating resources for those Hispanic businesses and chambers affect by Harvey.
“When the CHCC informed us of their action, we were touched by their sincere concern and willingness to assist our small business and chambers impacted by Hurricane Harvey,” stated Pauline E. Anton TAMACC President & CEO.
