Imagine Capital Campaign

So far, we have raised 1.2 million dollars! Now it is time to raise the remaining $800,000.

The Center for Art & Education is conducting a capital campaign to renovate a building located in the 400 Block of Van Buren’s Main Street as the Center’s new art education and gallery facility. Acquired by the CAE in 2015, architectural plans for the building call for the complete renovation of its interior and, in accordance with the Main Street historic district’s standards, restoration of the front exterior to its original, early 1900s character. Plans also include the acquisition and development of a half-block area of open-space property behind the building as a landscaped park, sculpture garden, and outside events area for the CAE and community.
To enable the already well-established and successful CAE organization to make its planned new center a premier art education facility – and enhance and expand the ways River Valley residents can experience art – our goal is to raise $5.4 million. A challenge grant of two million dollars from the Windgate Foundation has given us a strong start, and we are now conducting a major gifts program with individuals and businesses to meet that challenge and to round out the goal.
