Bus House for Winslow Food Forest

We are Mel, Teague and baby Uly. We need your help to buy a school bus so we can convert it into a traveling food foresting home of our own!
We are farmers and permaculture designers. Together we run a farm called Winslow Food Forest in Portland, Oregon. As young farmers, owning land has been out of reach. So we worked with what we had, beginning in the backyard of a punk house we were renting back in 2012.
As we grew our small farm business, we began to realize the power of being nomadic as we have we traveled throughout the Pacific Northwest to design and install food forests on a range of properties, from urban backyards to rural acreage homesteads. 
This is where you come in...Your support would change our lives. You would be helping us to travel from site to site installing and maintaining food forests.
Living in a converted school bus will give us the home we have been longing for, and allow us to own our home outright, which means we can invest more funds into our mission of creating food forests everywhere!
In addition, we have beloved friends and family all over the country who we plan to connect with as we travel, to give our baby a rich upbringing full of love, adventure, and good gardening.
We believe that perennial agroforestry systems can help regenerate ecosystems, and can restore health and happiness to our communities.
We are committed to leaving a mosaic of edible ecosystems in our wake. Please help us build a home that will allow us to expand our direct action of repairing our earth and growing good food for people everywhere.

We are asking for help to raise $5,000 to buy the bus itself.
Teague has carpentry skills, and we have a community of friends and family that have offered to help with the conversion itself. Any additional funds raised will go towards converting the bus to run off of waste vegetable oil, installing solar panels on the bus, and conversion costs such as installing energy efficient appliances.
