Britneys Heroes 2018

Tax deductible
Hello! Thank you for visiting our GoFundMe page!!

We are Britney's Heroes! - A group of totally awesome epilepsy butt-kickers from UVM's Athletic Training Program as well as Britney's family and friends! Shout out to: Anne, Emily, Kimberly, Ashley, Beth, Sam, Erin, Chris, Taylor, Bryan, Peter, Ben, Trevor, Oli, Tyrus, Tim, Mike, Austin, Kyle, Eric, and Britney herself!

This year, on Sunday, April 22nd, 2018, the Epilepsy Foundation of Vermont is hosting a fun event called the "Big Chill: Be a Hero for Epilepsy". Each participating team (that’s us!) plunges into Lake Champlain's frigid waters to celebrate the fundraising and community outreach they've done. All donations and proceeds go to the Epilepsy Foundation of Vermont and contribute to the services they provide and the research they do.

Just a little bit of history about our mission and WHY we want to jump into Lake Champlain:
In 2016, one of our member's younger sisters, Britney, was diagnosed with epilepsy; a tough disorder that causes seizures. Since Britney's diagnosis, she has undergone many tests and medical trials to try and take control of her seizures. At first it was difficult to find the right balance of medication and to adapt her lifestyle as she is an active young teenager. Thankfully, she and her family discovered the Epilepsy Foundation of Vermont; a wonderful non-profit organization that provides information, referral, advocacy, educational programs for students and school personnel, support meetings, in-service training for professionals, camp opportunities, and much more for families and loved ones battling epilepsy.

Since Britney's epilepsy diagnosis, our team of Britney's Heroes - consisting of friends, family, and now UVM's Athletic Training Program- have made it our mission to help raise awareness of epilepsy within our communities and to raise money for the Epilepsy Foundation of Vermont.

In order to participate in the Big Chill, we need to raise at least $1000. Last year, thanks to our donors’ help, we were fortunate enough to raise over $1,200 for the Epilepsy Foundation of Vermont and it is our goal this year to raise even more. We are so excited for this event and would be honored to have your support. We would greatly appreciate if you would consider donating to the Epilepsy Foundation of Vermont in support of Britney’s Heroes. If you do, the Epilepsy Foundation of Vermont is also a 501(C)3 Non-profit Organization so your donation would be tax deductible!

Thank you so much for your support and your time!
