I just started a fundraising campaign for my big brother. He's currently in Intensive Critical Care in Florida after a very serious Jet Ski accident thaT has left him with several fractured vertebrae and may leave him paralyzed. He is under constant pain and can barley move to drink water. I want to raise money to have an Air Ambulance transport him from Miami to Toronto for immediate spinal surgery. This accident left him in a state I could never imagine and it's heart breaking; he should be comfortable and around family and friends during this difficult time.
Waleed Malik Soliman explains his story:
"While vacationing in Miami I suffered a Jet Ski accident. This accident has rendered me bed ridden in Mount Sinai Hospital in Miami where I weigh my options. I have spoken to the surgeon and they feel I should do a surgery in about one week's time, which consists of screws and a rod and a bone infusion because the MRI has concluded that 2 out of 3 spinal columns near the thoracic 12 vertebrae section of my back are seriously fractured. Two CT scans and one MRI scan, an ultrasound and an X-ray examination have all been done. Blood and urine work has been sent to the lab also and all of those tests have concluded that a surgery is definately neccesary to avoid any future paralysis from developing. The cost and timing of this surgery couldn't have hit me at a tougher time in my life. I was in the middle of moving from one apartment to another apartment by July 1st and my work place's short term disability will only help me with my rental situation for the next 4 months while I try and recover with the love of my family. Any help you can send me will be used to help me ease this process and take worries off of my mind while I heal. I'm optimistic about my chances no matter how severe things look right now.
