Bring Tuvia Home!
Tuvia's grandmother died in the UK, so he went home as the family rabbi to be there for the funeral and mourning period. Then the problems started rolling in. Although he was just weeks away from receiving his work and travel papers, he left for the funeral prior to receiving them and the U.S. government wouldn't allow him back into the country, because the assumption was that he left, abandoning his immigration case. It was thousands of dollars and time in the immigration process lost. Forms were filled out, submitted, and the consulate dragged their feet during the entire process. Paperwork disappeared, was refilled, more thousands were paid to the government, and the process trudged along. When the good news arrived that his visa was approved in late May, he immediately took his UK passport to the Jerusalem consulate to receive his visa. Their promised 7-10 day period passed with no word. Then, a technological glitch plagued embassies and consulates worldwide, delaying the visa again. This has been going on for over 9 months.
His visa is finally available today and he can finally come back home. His amazing wife has been working furiously to get him back and take care of their son, and we don't want them to be apart for another weekend.
Please help get Tuvia back home for the upcoming 4th of July weekend so he can be with his family. Every little bit will help! We thank you and hope you have an enjoyable and relaxing 4th of July!
I will hopefully have another update later today when he is on a plane on his way home!
Thank you thank you thank you all a million times! We have enough to pay off the plane ticket + hopefully sponsor a seudat shlishit or kiddush in honor of our family being reunited!
So completely and utterly touched by the support. Thank you all! It's going to be so good, so epic to see Asher's face when he sees Tatty at the airport on Friday morning, please Gd!
