Brayden Ackermann's Fight

Let me start by telling you a little about me and my family. My wife, Michelle, and I went to Pine Bush High School together. Years after HS we connected and began dating. We got married in June 2012 and welcomed twin boys in December 2013, Brayden and Landon.
On July 16, 2016, tragedy struck my family, one of my twin boys, Brayden (2 1/2), woke up and could not use the right side of his body. Brayden was immediately admitted to The Maria Fareri Children's Hospital at Westchester Medical Center. After much testing, Brayden was diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG). DIPG is an aggressive and difficult to treat type of brain cancer, it is inoperable due to its location in the brain stem. DIPG is an extremely rare type of cancer, affecting approximately only 300 children in the United States per year.
Brayden begins daily radiation treatment for 5 1/2 weeks on August 8, 2016. The radiation treatment will help to shrink the tumor, however, the affects of the radiation are short, with recurrence in 6 to 9 months. We are hopeful that Brayden will tolerate the radiation treatment well, and be able to come home daily after treatment. We want him to spend as much time at home playing with his twin brother and spending time with his family.
Since Brayden has been in the hospital, my wife and I have not been able to work. Travel to and from the hospital for treatment will continue to limit my ability to work. We are hoping that through this account we can raise money to offset the rapidly mounting hospital bills.
Our boys are our life and to see one of them suffering is torture, any donation will be greatly appreciated.
