provides books to children in need

Books4Kids is a non profit organization created to get books to children from low income homes that have no books to read in their homes. Families that struggle financially barely have enough money for food, clothing and shelter, so a book would be the last thing they would purchase for their children. Children need to practice reading daily to keep up their reading skills. So our goal is to give each child (Pre-K through 3rd grade) from a low income home a small library consisting of 20 books, 10 picture books and 10 books at the child's grade level. It is extremely important that children are reading on grade level by the end of third grade. Did you know that states create prisons according to the number of children not reading on grade level by the end of third grade? We are working with school districts, principals and parents to insure these children have books at home to practice reading.
