Blue Spruce Grill /Western Maine

Moreyn Kamenir  FARMINGTON, ME
My dream: Unique Food Truck and to go home. Please send me home?
I'm going to be sharing a few things about my personal life but it seems the right thing to do as I am asking for you to invest in me. So, here goes:

I was homeless at 16 with no family. No one to call.
I have always worked & supported myself.
I've been a receptionist, managed apartments and motels, worked in fast food, waitressed, tended bar, had a house painting business, as well as completed college to become a Massage Therapist.
You can learn & do a lot of things in 43 years.

I currently sell sunglasses at the seashore.
I created Pier Shades over a decade ago.
(It is a 2 hour drive from home though on top of 12 hour days!)
I'm not ready to close but to hire a manager to run it in 2018 as it will take all my focus to get the Blue Spruce Grill up and running.

                            I'm already creating jobs!

(Me on TV while at Pier Shades )

I live in the Western foothills of Maine where the median income is about $17k .

Work here is scarce so I've created my own job (again) by buying the food concession.
These trucks are a novelty in this area.

                                        (^Downtown^)

The menu at Blue Spruce Grill will begin by offering HUGE Chili Burgers, Hot Dogs, Burrito, Taco (On home made fresh shells) and Enchilada.

If you live in a big city this probably doesn't sound that 'new & exciting' but it is around here.  People chased us down to ask if it was going to be local when we pulled through town the day we bought it!!

There will of course, be french fries, poutine (yum) and onion rings!

My burger varieties are endless and I make a wicked good enchilada!

(^^Future home of The Blue Spruce Grill ^^)

I've scouted several options on a major route that are more than happy to have me set up at their existing business.  What they ask for rent is reasonable.

The grill is beautiful and ready to rock and roll.
Those sinks^ under the window ^were over $2k with all the holding tanks, hoses, motor.

See the anti-fatigue mat covering the entire floor & exhaust fans?  It is inches thick! This will be a good working environment.

I've purchased the food concession wagon,  grill, hot dog maker, signs, small miscellania as well as the shed and freezers/refrigeration that will go inside of it. (Shed not pictured as it will be delivered in the Spring.)

It has taken me years to accumulate  this equipment on my income.

I NEED HELP WITH THESE THINGS:
                          A good used towing vehicle
                                           $4000-5000
                                       and some more
                               restaurant equipment
A partial list is found here in the 'wishlist'

I am starting with a kitchen 1/2 the size I wanted to but it is up to code, clean and functional.
The disparity you may notice in the total I'm asking for is due to this.
My fantasy is that the donations will be enough to trade this in for one twice the size.

I'll be offering a pay it forward to my customers.
Customers can purchase anything we offer
and a star will go up on the board
to be retrieved by any customer
                                    that needs to use it

                            No one walks away hungry
                                         With your help
                                               Thank you

I am looking forward to opening my lil diner but it's only the first step. To explain my impatience...we'll be moving that diner to the field next to the house after a few years which will take a LOT more saving to do! Not spelled out in the GFM is that we'll be on the major route for a few years as a sort of introduction to us and our foods.

You all will get hooked on us Wilton, Maine Farmington, Maine Jay, Maine Livermore Falls, Maine Livermore, Maine Rumford, Maine Chesterville, Maine Maine.
Then we will move to a better spot (nearby) where you'll be more comfortable staying for a longer period of time because there will be fun things to do as well as fun things to eat.
We haven't shared the real plans we have for this location but trust us when we say you will really get a kick out of visiting!

In between and betwixt all of that I want to get to the 2nd floor of our home and make it inhabitable.
Claim it from the years of empty so that our friends and family as well as new friends we've met online can find your way up here to visit!
I want you to feel like staying and be comfortable. We have the room & cannot wait for this new reality!

This campaign was started to see if I could prove to myself that the world was not as uncaring as I thought it was.
The whole 'it takes a village' concept I've laughed at for so long...
I have been on the outside of this 'village' most of my life.
I wanted to test that water knowing I'm swimming upstream.
These projects ONLY work when you have family and friends to share your dream.

At 16 I was orphaned and homeless ..
I've tried explaining what that felt like for almost 40 years now.

Today this quote from #MotherTheresa came up and #Bazinga ..
This is what I've been trying to say for decades.
It was about not being a part of #society.
That was the hardest part.
Being invisible.

When I set this thing up it was with the thought of strangers seeing it and helping me $5-$10 at a time and NEVER about people I knew or had met online other than if they'd share it, [maybe with a good word for me].

The whole restaurant idea is supposed to be a way for me to #PayItForward. Originally it was to be non-profit. Now it will be a place where others can buy something for a stranger, no one walks away hungry type thing until I can get some in person help turning it into a non profit.

I hadn't thought to mention this but a friend just suggested that I do. I suffer from PTSD.
My living situation here on the coast exacerbates this condition and the environment my sunglasses store is in is even worse for me.
It really would mean the world to me to JUST GO HOME and work there.

We had people stopping to ask if we were planning to place the trailer in this neighborhood when we were bringing it home. The excitement here is palpable. Every place I've called about renting is open to the concept.
