Billy's story is currently being updated and his supporters can expect to read more about plans for Billy's legacy within the next few weeks.

More about Billy.

Billy had everything to live for. Ever since he was little he was a lovely, kind soul.

He went  on to help raise awareness around mental health issues for other young people going through cancer, including this interview with Channel 4 news and through some published articles he has written. He recently went on Radio Norfolk with me to talk about his ordeal and this campaign.

He had a huge love of music and art which motivated him to focus on his future.   Billy even graduated from the Access Creative College artist development programme, despite his relentless ordeal and having to do most  of his work remotely, usually from his bed, due to his cancer treatment.

During long periods of treatment and being isolated from friends, Billy focused upon writing, producing and recording his own songs from his bedroom in Norwich and has been catching the eye of several prominent artists in the field. He is an incredibly talented songwriter with a beautiful voice and the potential to be a successful musician.

To say that Billy has been through a traumatic time is an understatement. When most young people are making plans for their futures, becoming independent and having fun, Billy has spent most of the last three years undergoing harrowing hospital treatment or at home sick with the side effects.

On Tuesday 26th March at approximately 5pm,my darling beautiful boy Billy had to go to his new home in another realm.
He held on for so long and had more strength than anyone could ever imagine. But his body would no longer allow him to live the life he so desperately wished for and his soul needed to escape to be free.

People like Billy are rare Jewels and the earth doesn’t have many of them. When these precious Jewels come to visit us from time to time, it is clear to everyone who comes in to contact with them, just how incredibly special they are and how brightly they shine.
Billy was indeed one of these rare Jewels. He was always completely unique from the moment he was born and he saw the world differently to how most do. He was deeply sensitive and caring yet also hilariously funny. His ability to speak in almost any accent was legendary. He was a wonderful and supportive friend who always gave the best advice to those he loved, even if he was suffering himself. He brought light to so many people.

Billy was, and always will be, one of the most genuinely talented and special people ever.
Throughout the extremely difficult times, which he had no choice but to endure, Billy passionately created his music and art and never stopped believing that he would achieve anything that he wanted.
It was crystal clear to everyone who knew him that he was a true star. Billy’s music and Art will and must live on, he wants to be celebrated for this and deserves to be known for his talent.

I am heartbroken that he never managed to get to Los Angeles as he wanted this so much. His girlfriend, Jenny, and myself plan to come to LA in the near future so that we can bring Billy, in spiritual form, to the place he wanted to visit the most. We hope that when this happens we can meet the people who have supported him there and that they will always hold a special place in their hearts for my beautiful boy.

Billy dreamed of buying me a house, or rather, he had decided he would build me a home in the grounds of his mansion so I could be nearby if he needed me!
Billy was absolutely set on his career in music and I have no doubt he would have been exceptionally successful. We talked about the ways in which he could use his platform to help others and he had many ideas for various projects. Sadly, Billy will not be here physically to carry this out but I am dedicated to continuing his legacy and doing everything I can to ensure that Billy’s life, his art and his music continue to make a positive impact.
Billy was as protective towards me as I was to him, and the bond between us will never, ever be broken. My husband, Pete, said that Billy and I were like twins, always together and this was so true.

When he became too tired to stay here any longer, I held him in my arms and told him to go in to our new house and furnish it in his impeccable taste. That he must walk in to his brand new music room and start working on lots of new songs so that they are ready for when he comes back next time. His dogs are sitting comfortably at his feet and the sun is shining brightly through the windows that look out over the large garden, full of flowers.
I told him to get my rooms ready and that I will see him soon. He was smiling and perfectly in that place when he took a very gentle last breath. He simply looked like he had gone to sleep very happily and at peace.
Our hearts are broken in to a million pieces and I have no idea how I will manage. But I know he is with me and with all of the people who loved him. I was honoured to be Billy’s mum and will be forever and ever and again, next time round.

With the money raised we had been able to begin many key treatments which would not have been possible otherwise. Unfortunately, if things had been started just 6 months sooner we would be in a completely different position to the one we have sadly found ourselves in.
We are incredibly behind in the treatment of adolescent bone cancer in this country which is why there are so many young people like Billy on these Go fund me sites trying to raise the money to have a chance of life.
Billy had been reasonably fit until 6 months ago when everything seemed to go downhill quite rapidly. During these 6 months I worked tirelessly researching everything and discovered, much to my dismay the huge gaps in access to and provision of new treatments.
I am passionate about using Billy’s experience to highlight the long overdue need for urgent change for improving access to new cancer treatments.
In particular for rare cancers such as Ewing’s sarcoma.
Treatments exist which could have saved my beautiful son but they were not available within our country and I could not afford to pay for what was needed at the time it was needed.
No mother or parent should ever be facing burying their child and things need to change to prevent any other parent from losing their beloved child. The pain is unbearable.

Thank you to everyone who has helped and supported us. You have all shown incredible kindness and you made a difference to Billy in his last 6 months.
We will be making some donations to various charities as well as continuing Billy’s legacy.

Love and light

Hi friends,
Please check out this link to a page set up by the lovely Grace Jessica, who despite never meeting us in person, has very bravely decided to do a skydive and is donating the money raised to help Billy.

It’s so heart warming that people show so much kindness and it is incredible what can be achieved.
Please keep sharing Billy’s campaign as often as you can across your social media sites.
Billy remains very poorly and now has the added challenge of needing a wheelchair and a lot of extra support.
All your donations and shares count and have the potential to save Billy’s life.
Thank you all.

Much love,

Hello friends,
I am asking urgently for help for Billy. I am still in hospital with him and he is very unwell. The treatments that could save his life are not available yet in this country due to multiple factors, specifically, that Ewing’s Sarcoma is a rare cancer and historically, there has been a huge lack of funding for research for these cancers, resulting in little change in treatments for decades.
The new treatments available in the USA and Germany are brand new and our only hope is to raise this money through crowdfunding to give my son, Billy the chance to live.
Since we started raising funds in August, Billy’s health has deteriorated and he is literally fighting for his life, yet still hoping we will be able to get him the funds he needs to save his life and give him a future.
I can’t explain how awful this situation is and how it pains me to have to take to social media to raise enough to give Billy a chance.
Please can I ask for all of your help to get Billy’s campaign energised again, we really are in a desperate situation and Need a miracle for Billy. Please help us.
We are so grateful to all of you, Billy has so much to give back to the world and deserves the chance to have the best health possible and to live his life.
He needs you more than ever right now.

Billy has been critically ill and is still in hospital.
Last week his lung infection was so severe that we were told he could stop breathing within 3 hours. He was put on to high flow oxygen to keep his lungs inflated.
All the family were called and it was, without question the most terrifying moment of my life.
Miraculously, Billy slowly began to improve and despite the dire circumstances, pulled through the critical phase.
He is still in hospital and was able to get out of bed today for the first time in 3 weeks.
This traumatic ordeal only goes to underpin the urgency of Billy’s situation.
We are appealing to all of you to please keep supporting Billy’s campaign and sharing on a regular basis, donating if you can or possibly organise an event to raise money to help Billy access the treatment he so desperately needs.
Due to the weakness of his lungs he now needs to have a wheelchair as he is currently too weak to walk.
There is so much money in the world wasted on rubbish yet by just getting many many people to donate just a small amount you could help save a life.
Billy is the most wonderful person who has really suffered so much over the last few years, he has missed all the usual things young people are able to do yet he still continues to shine and focus what energy he has in creating music and art. Please please help him have the opportunity to share his creativity with the world for many more years to come.
Please stay with us, we really need you all more than ever.
You have the power to help Billy live!

Love and sincerest thanks
