Fellow Skaters,
After valiantly fighting glioblastoma for over 29 months, our dear friend Bill English has passed away.
Bill has been a member of WAR since 1998. His full of life spirit, has touched all that have met him. Bill has quite possibly been our most active member. Bill regularly attended Friday Night Skates, led Sunday Intermediate Skates, and frequently organized ad-hoc skates. Like Christmas day at Temple Hills and his world renowned Disco Cart Skates.
Bill was the embodiment of fun. His leadership on the WAR board has helped to shape the club and kept it going for as long as it has.
Bill's passing is a great loss to all Washington Area Roadskaters. It is for this reason, we're raising funds to dedicate a bench to Bill. The bench will be along his favorite route on Sligo Creek Parkway. Any amount that is raised above our goal will be given to Bill's wife Val and his son Billy.
Please share any photos/videos that you have of Bill.
***NOTE: You do not have to "tip" the platform. In the drop down select other, then type $0. ***
Feel free to post this on any platform/group/list that you haven't already seen it.

Dear Friends,
I am sorry to say that Bill passed away earlier today. Here are the words that his wife Val wrote to inform us:
At 1:30 this afternoon Bill quietly passed away. He was comforted by the outpouring of love he received from friends and family that made his transition a peaceful one. We are thankful for all the support we were given.
