Messianic Jewish Building Fund

Donation protected
Our building project will create a Messianic Synagogue and a Community House that welcomes Jews and Gentiles to rejoice and worship the God of Israel with us. The Messianic movement is a faith movement of Jews who follow Yeshua (Jesus) as their Lord and Savior together with Gentiles with the same commitment. Beit Simcha is the first successful Messianic Jewish congregation in the Lehigh Valley and Northeast Pennsylvania founded in 1992. We currently draw about 100 people to our Shabbat (Saturday) morning services from as far away as Scranton, Harrisburg, Lancaster and Clinton, NJ—every week.

The synagogue will be connected together with a Community House where dwellings of an intentional community will reside. The residents will open our doors every day to the wider community for outreach (coffeehouses, homeschool associating, food pantry, etc.) and prayer ministries every day. Our vision for intentional community is inspired by the revival of Acts 2:44-47, the Moravian revival of the early 18th century. Count Von Zinzendorf dedicated Bethlehem for outreach and a hundred years of 24-hour prayer. We believe we have a prophetic calling to dig open these ancient wells with a community offering daily Shacharit (Morning Prayer), healing and deliverance prayer, bible studies, fellowship groups and multiple weekend worship services for different groups

For nearly 23 years Beit Simcha has been renting from other churches. Having our own Synagogue is vital in order to be much more effective at reaching our Jewish people, because many Jews are uncomfortable coming into a regular non-Jewish oriented church. Two years ago Beit Simcha helped bless our daughter congregation, Beth El Gibor, financially with the purchase and renovation of their building in Bethlehem, PA. We at Beit Simcha are asking for this same financial support for our future building—you can be blessed by blessing us (Genesis 12:3).

The ballpark estimate cost for our facility is about $1.8 million. We will soon get more detailed estimate and determine in-kind labor contributions from friends of the congregation. (Watch for updates!) We have already raised nearly $325,000 in donations and pledges and we have already invested $35,000 into the project. We plan to share our facility with a Sunday non-Jewish oriented church and rent from Community House residents, so we believe we can cover a mortgage for about half the cost. So we are nearly halfway toward our goal. We hope to start construction in the summer of 2015.

Our Messianic Rabbi, Glenn David Blank, recently retired from his career as a professor at Lehigh University in order to serve as the Literary Editor for the Tree of Life Bible project as well as serve the congregation and the wider faith community full-time. Thus we are able to offer the new Tree of Life Bibles, signed by our Rabbi, for pledges or large donations.
