Back 2 School Hawaii Clothing Drive

Aloha, I’m Kaiya, and I’m a eight grade student at SEEQS Charter Middle School in Honolulu, Hawaii.
I love living in Hawaii, and hanging out with my friends, and when it’s time to go back to school, I’m so lucky because I’m able to buy some new clothes, a great new backpack, new shoes and all those things that help give me confidence for the first few days back.
But there are kids on Oahu who are not that fortunate, and that’s why I want to help. I think every kid deserves the opportunity to walk into school that first day feeling confident and happy.
So here’s how I can help, and I hope you can help me! I want to raise 2,000 lbs of clothing and hold a pop-up back to school shopping event to help underserved school aged kids on Oahu.

There are so many different types of people living in Oahu. My school friends come from all over the world, but I have noticed there are more kids my age living without a lot of money, and unfortunately, some are homeless.
I want to invite these kids to a fun event so they can enjoy a back to school shopping event.
School starts on August seventh and I want to hold my back to school event on Saturday, August 5…An event with live music, shave ice, socializing and the opportunity to pick up 5 new back to school clothing items.
There is small cost $2, and is some kids can’t afford that, they’ll get in for free.
I’m hoping to raise $1000 to cover the cost of setting up my non-profit foundation, to print postcards and flyers to hand out to businesses and individuals to create a website to promote this back to school shopping event, and to turn this inaugural event into an annual clothing drive.
My goal is to help Oahu kids in need feel confident and happy to be going back to school.
I hope you can help me reach this important goal through your contributions to our non-profit foundation.
