IVF for "Baby Gee"

It wasn’t supposed to be this hard. We grow up believing that starting a family is a simple process, but that’s because we don’t talk about the complications and the pain and fear that accompany them.
We talk about other health issues. We have charity 5Ks and licensed apparel for them. But we don’t talk about reproductive health. I thought that the excruciating pain and fevers I experienced every month was something every woman had to endure. It took sixteen years of pain, two miscarriages and four years of trying to conceive to get me asking questions. I’ve learned three things in the process
1. I have Stage 4 (severe) endometriosis. There is no cure. The surgery to relieve symptoms nearly cost me my ovaries.
2. In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) is pretty much our only option to have a family. (Our different nationalities make adoption extremely difficult.)
3. All of this is incredibly common. The chances that someone close to you is facing a similar struggle is all but guaranteed. Think about that: one in four couples you know are quietly suffering with infertility.
IVF is incredibly expensive. Of course, it’s not covered by our insurance, and we can’t quite cover it on our own. What’s worse is that the odds of successfully conceiving after a single round of treatment aren’t great, but if you’ve met us, you know how we live for beating the odds.
We’re raising funds to help cover two rounds of IVF treatment. We’d like to believe we won’t need that second round. If we don’t, we plan to pay it forward by donating that round to another couple who have so much love to give a little one.
We know that not everyone is able to give financially, but we can all spare a moment to learn about reproductive health. We have provided links below.
