HELP BALI SAVE ITS ANIMALS
Underprivileged, but big-hearted Balinese families truly love their animals.
Sadly, they are often in desperate need of help to provide proper care for their pets and to keep them fed, healthy and safe from Bali’s illegal dog meat trade and other cruelties.
We urgently need your support today to help Balinese families care for their pets.
Anyone who has visited will know that Bali’s animals are some of our world’s most vulnerable. Each day they face the struggle of finding enough food to survive, shelter as well as safety from unspeakable cruelty and the illegal dog meat trade.
Bali Animal Welfare Association (BAWA) regularly meets animal-loving local families with the biggest hearts and often, the lowest incomes.
These families take-in abandoned dogs and cats, giving them a loving, safe home. And though feeding even themselves can be a daily struggle, caring families try to share what little they have with their pets.
BAWA is working with these families to help provide food and medical care for their animals.
We urgently need your help to continue our work and purchase food and medical supplies.
It costs $50 per month to provide food, medication and treatment for one animal living with a Balinese family. But for each animal, the love and care of their family is truly priceless.
The donation you make today will directly support Bali’s animals and help keep those who are lucky enough to have one, in a loving home.
Please give today.
A Family Story
Eka and Maria and their children Ika and Salfi are just one of the beautiful families that urgently needs our help.
Dad Eka works on a trash dump where he lives with his young family. They care for dozens of animals cruelly dumped there because others don't want them.
Despite their poverty, the family feels too deeply for the abandoned puppies, kittens, dogs and cats tossed onto the trash dump to let them go hungry and suffer. So they struggle to feed the many starving animals in the area.
Eka’s daughter Ika, aged seven, has adopted a cat as her own and four more live in the family's make-shift home.
Little Ika is a very special young girl with compassion and understanding well beyond her years. She showers the animals with love and affection.
With BAWA’s help, Ika and her family save the lives of so many vulnerable animals that would otherwise starve to death, or perish from illness and injury.
Ika’s love of her cat and her family’s struggle is captured in this recent video at their home near Ubud.
Not far away from the trash dump, brother and sister Eka and Dewi love animals so much that they now have six beautiful rescued Bali dogs with whom they share their home.
BAWA visits the families regularly to provide free nutritious pet food, medicines, vaccinations, sterilisation and other treatments for the animals, as well as education on proper care for their animals.
In this way, we can give health, happiness and loving homes to animals that would otherwise be abused, abandoned or killed.
There are so many Balinese families whose hearts overflow with love for their animals but who simply do not have the means to buy food and medicine.
We urgently need your help to keep Bali dogs and cats in loving homes.
Please make a donation today.
